Here I am settled back in Montepulciano (Montie). Had another lovely day with G and P yesterday in Rome. We went to the Pantheon, the Forum, and ate pizza in the shade at a nice little restaurant. We went back to the hotel and crashed for a couple hours and then went off to dinner at Hard Rock Cafe. I ate the greatest Cobb Salad of my life. Everywhere else Italians give you the salad dressing choice of oil and vinegar or..... oil and vinegar. Chalk it up to my "immature palate", I don't care, but a girl's gotta have her ranch and honey mustard. Needless to say I took full advantage of the slew of dressing choices at Hard Rock.
After dinner we watched SNL (in english!) And off to bed.
This morning after breakfast G and P took me to the train station where I took a train from Rome to Chiusi and then a bus from Chiusi to Montepulciano.
Grandpa- In response to your question about the trains: They are very easy to navigate after the first time. The first time trying to figure the trains out is confusing and stressful BUT once you do it once, you're golden. I feel like I'm in Harry Potter in the little cabins on the train.
And I normally don't buy first class tickets but thanks to Pawpaw I rode first class today. I honestly couldn't tell the difference besides a squishier headrest.
I miss everyone dearly and I will try and send out more postcards this week to those of you that have requested them. And please let me know if you have received one from me because I sent a bunch out a couple weeks ago and I'm afraid some got lost in the mix of things.
K BYE!!!!!!!!
